Shimmering Soundscape

Commissioned by local Artist, Thomas Paints, through The Court’s ‘Blank Canvas’ Community Competition, this artwork aims to capture and visually represent the sonic identity of The Court, encompassing the ambient sounds of The Court itself.
Capturing the sounds of The Court in September 2025, Thomas has created a bespoke, visual representation which will be transformed into a three-dimensional installation using domed wooden circles, and finishes in gold leaf, to depict the peaks and troughs of The Court through sounds waves.
A TRIBUTE TO HISTORY
A prominent piece of artwork within the heart of The Caledonian Edinburgh, Thomas’ ‘Shimmering Soundscape’ will feature exactly 1903 pieces – paying tribute to the historic opening of The Caledonian Station Hotel in December 1903.
